For the audience member of today and tomorrow, the notion of artistic experience is essential to understand a work, and the participative or immersive facet has progressively become more and more central. Being able to take part in the creative process, understanding its mechanisms, address and question the artist’s intention, meet and discuss, the public now wants to see art differently, actively.
Educational and cultural outreach activities are essential in this context. Ideas flow back and forth from artistic propositions and the audience, fostering the surfacing of an aesthetic experience and providing access to public to a new form of interpretation.
In 2017-2018, the Department of Education and Cultural Outreach at IRCAM continues its previously implemented activities, intended for a range of publics with the common objective of continually renewing knowledge in connection with the artistic season.
