L'Annonce faite à Marie

Edit

Philippe Leroux’s first opera, finally presented in Paris, is less about annunciation than fulfillment. Born from the composer’s passion for the world of Claudel, L’Annonce faite à Marie places language at the heart of a lyrical and autobiographical journey. The synthesized voice of Claudel blends with live singing, medieval illumination codes shape the stage direction by Célie Pauthe, and the writer’s calligraphy generates both rhythm and harmony. Everything converges in this exceptional and solitary achievement in the world of opera.
