The idea that there is no clear separation between artistic creation, scientific research, and technical development no longer seems to need defending. Yet it often remains difficult to reconcile the different epistemic, aesthetic, and institutional standards at play. In response to critics who argue that such initiatives are bound to produce insipid art or poor science, what principles, approaches, and models could help structure this family of projects? This symposium follows on from a first symposium held in 2024 and offers a series of presentations by IRCAM researchers and external speakers, followed by a discussion.
