It speaks! In Voi(REX), a masterwork by Philippe Leroux, the singer's voice merges, at the end of the piece, with the composer's own voice, in a memorable morphing effect. Before that, it will have woven every possible interplay with the instrumental writing, every transition between poetic speech and song. In Philippe Hurel's Speech, an actor's voice attempts to tell us something about a creation unfolding before our eyes and ears. To borrow the title of Hibiki Mukai's work: human voice, or artificial? It is, above all, the voice of despair and irony, the voice of a performative act, one that is highly premeditated.
