IRCAM is an internationally recognized research center dedicated to creating new technologies for music. The institute offers a unique experimental environment where composers strive to enlarge their musical experience through the concepts expressed in new technologies.

In 2009, IRCAM instigated a musical research residency open to professionals in the fields of computer music and sound.

The results of musical research projects are disseminated via publications by the Research/Creation Interfaces department and the Research and Creation Seminar. These are the fruit of interactions between new musical ideas and the scientific teams' domains of investigation.
