Founded by Pierre Boulez, IRCAM is an institute under the aegis of the Centre Pompidou and the French Ministry of Cuture. Since 1995, IRCAM and the CNRS have come together to form the mixed research laboratory (Sciences et technologies de la musique et du son - UMR 9912).

The Foundation Orange supports two new programs that are of first and foremost importance in the IRCAM workshops. These programs rely on technological innovations applied to the voice.
The Workshops of Creation: Cultural outreach program intended for adolescents for art education and the democratization of the accessibility of culture.
The Workshops during ManiFeste-2013, The Academy: An artistic action that favors the training and integration of young artists in a professional context.
