Neuburger Recital

Jean-Frédéric Neuburger Robert H. Platz. Robert Schumann. Heinz Holliger

Mood swings, infinite reciprocity of poetry and music: Heinz Hollinger's music was in training for a long time with that of Robert Schumann. At the heart of his majestic Partita for piano, the Swiss composer makes Sphynx resound, evocative of Schumann's Carnaval: a few note-letters signed by a secret author for an entire series.

Jean-Frédéric Neuburger's recital opens with the piano of Robert Platz, completely modified by computers but without the assistance of any loudspeakers, and ends in the fantastic universe of Kreisleriana. Schumann was inspired by the odd wanderings and pirouettes of E.T.A. Hoffmann's character Johannes Kreisler: the grotesque is interrupted by dreams, the spirit suspended by the "once upon a times" repeated from childhood.
