Performances of masks and speed can be found throughout the inaugural concert of the Nouveau Festival du Centre Pompidou.

Keeping to the genre of the Attelane farce that led to the creation of the commedia dell'arte, masked figures incarnate stereotypical characters and monstrous beings-the ogres Manducus and Lamia, or Maccus, the ancestor of Polichinelle-present Bosse, crâne rasé et nez crochu.

Marc Monnet's theatrical and sarcastic ideas can be found in his "concerto" for piano. Rather that suffer the conventions of the concerto form, the composer plays with the effects of accumulation and interruption, with inorganic virtuoso and playful risks.
