Max Synthesis: Create your own Sounds with Different Digital Syntheses
Intermediate Level
Prerequisite
Advanced knowledge of Max programming. Successful completion of Max: Musical Programming: From Simple Patches to Live Performance Patches or knowledge of the Max tutorials (Basic tutorials 1-22, Data tutorials 1-5, MIDI tutorials 1-5, and MSP tutorials 1-31).
Upon completion of the three advanced Max programs (processing, interaction, synthesis) participants will be able to program their own complex audio-processing patches, analyze and synthesize sound signals, chose the tools best adapted for their needs and include them in a program for real-time applications.
Description
This specialized training course introduces participants to techniques for sound synthesis available in Max (additive, wave table, subtractive, granular) focusing on the methods created at IRCAM and available via the IRCAM Forum (vocal synthesis, cross, concatenative, except those addressed during the Modalys course: constructing and playing a virtual instrument in different software environments).
