Max Processing: New Audio Processing Techniques for Your Max Patches

Intermediate Level

Prerequisite
Advanced knowledge of Max programming. Successful completion of the Max: Musical Programming: From Simple Patches to Live Performance Patches or knowledge of the Max tutorials (Basic tutorials 1-22, Data tutorials 1-5, MIDI tutorials 1-5, and MSP tutorials 1-31).

Upon completion of the three advanced Max programs (processing, interactions, synthesis) participants will be able to program their own complex audio-processing patches, analyze and synthesize sound signals, chose the tools best adapted for their needs and include them in a program for real-time applications.

Description

This first advanced course is designed to let maxers go further than the simple use of objects and give them a deeper understanding of the most common sound processing tools found in Max (e.g. delay lines, transposition, frequency-shifter, granulation) letting them look at more advanced issues surrounding sound signals. Modules will be constructed to be included in a processing sequencer.
