Your Creative Project with OpenMusic - NEW
Advanced Level
COURSE CANCELLED
Prerequisite
Successful completion of the introductory OpenMusic training courses (OpenMusic: Introduction and OpenMusic: From Analysis to Writing) and OpenMusic Audio or proof of equivalent knowledge. Participants must use OpenMusic on a regular basis.
Upon completion of this course participants will be able to evaluate and create the computer developments necessary to carry out their creative project. They will be able to design and carry out computer applications with assistance.
Description
This course does not feature a production period and is presented like a workshop to help participants with their creative projects. Mornings are spent learning more about different aspects of OpenMusic for the given needs of the group. The afternoon sessions focus on the personal projects of the participants: individual accompaniment, discussions, and cooperation among participants.
Participants must send a complete dossier including a curriculum vita, a description of the creative project they wish to work on, sketches, and OpenMusic workspaces they have completed (or are in-progress). Participants are invited to suggest subjects that instructors may address during the course. At the beginning of the course, each participant will present their project to the others.

Didactic Material and Assessments
As participants gain understanding and comprehension of Max/MSP, they carry out exercises and patches that bring together topics covered and verify the participants' knowledge. In addition to these continual assessments, a final report is given to each participant at the end of the workshop to help them understand their strengths and weak points.
Hands-on work sessions take place on individual workstations (iMac, MIDI keyboard, headphones). Instructors use a workstation connected to a video projector and a quadraphonic sound system. Either paper or electronic teaching aids will be available for students.
