OpenMusic: From Analysis to Writing
Introductory Level
Prerequisite
Successful completion of the OpenMusic: Introduction training course, or proof of equivalent knowledge (completion of at least OpenMusic tutorials numbers 1 through 20).
Upon completion of the two introductory courses participants will have had a complete view of the possibilities available in OpenMusic. They will be able to use the main functions of OpenMusic (e.g. create and open a workspace, load a library), to create simple patches, to represent and play musical sequences with the tools available in OpenMusic (chord, chord-seq, voice, multi-seq, poly, and model), and to import and generate MIDI and text files from OpenMusic. Participants will be able to import and extract data from AudioSculpt, via SDIF folders.
Description
In this second part of the OpenMusic training program, participants explore the possibilities available through data exchanges between AudioSculpt and OpenMusic, the way in which to use sound analyses in a "compositional" setting:
- study iteration and recursiveness: omloop
- study maquette
- take an in-depth look at the concepts covered in the first introductory course
