ManiFeste-2012

ManiFeste-2012. The Plot of Time. A new rendezvous for creation, an international festival and multidisciplinary academy, ManiFeste-2012 brings together nearly 80 artists and researchers in a shared space of expression. A manifest for creation and training, a manifest for performance and collaborative projects, IRCAM's commitment to emerging signatures, a conjunction of the spirit of Agora and the Acanthes center, this escape from traditional limits and disciplines, placing music among the "arts of time" (theater, dance, etc.). June 1- July 1

Festival Agora 2011

Agora 2011. Irréducible. Rendezvous of innovation and artistic imagination, Agora 2011 sheds light on the relationships between mathematics and the arts, between logic and invention. Le festival brings together exceptional artists (Pierre Boulez, Emmanuel Nunes whose 70th birthday will be celebrated by IRCAM, the figure of Karlheinz Stockhausen, and emerging artists) and renowned researchers such as the mathematician Alain Connes and the philosopher Alain Badiou. June 8-18

Festival Agora 2010

Agora 2010. Prototypes. Creating an intrigue shared among the laboratory, the university, the studio, and society, publicly addressing the questions that arise via artistic interventions or the scientific imagination, testing the effects of a prototype through artistic works, is to act beyond cultural boundaries. June 7-19

Festival Agora 2009

Agora 2009. Forking Paths. Inspired by the oeuvre of Berio and the spirit of Borges, Agora 2009 is a unique multidisciplinary encounter focused on the idea of complexity in the arts and sciences.
The labyrithns of Forking Paths belong to architecture and contemporary writing, to the drama found in music and film editing, to the career of Luciano Berio or the signature of Lars von Trier - two central figures in this year's edition of the festival. Agora has escaped beyond specialization using the labyrinth itself as Ariadne's thread. June 8-19

Festival Agora 2008

Agora 2008. The icon, the voice. Timbre and light, the fusion of harmony and shapes, visual metaphors for an object permeating sound, Agora 2008 interweaves listening with vision and the sudden appearance of the voice as a resonant icon.

Opening with L'Icône paradoxale by Gérard Grisey, a work that literally "scrutinizes" the Madonna del Parto by Piero della Francesca, the two-week period of Agora 2008 is the occasion for IRCAM to present its most recent developments in the domain of expressivity of music and speech. June 4-20

Festival Agora 2007

Agora 2007, 10th edition. Utopia-Exotica. In the journey in the confines of the possible that is utopia, the musical imaginary once again travels beyond homelands. The year the Centre Pompidou celebrates its 30th birthday, at the heart of a broadened shared space, IRCAM places the musical future in utopia combined with the exotic. Edgard Varèse cut off his ties with Europe to experience modernism in the United States, Karlheinz Stockhausen encountered the East, Jonathan Harvey invented the lyric setting where Buddha and Wagner meet... These unique adventures are all fueled by the faraway. The journey removes the weight of legacies. Elsewhere founds the "nowhere" of utopia.. June 6-24

Festival Agora / Resonances 2006

Agora and Resonances, united for the first time, bring together all the Ircam teams and confirm the institute's new policy: the convergence of creation and research.

Supported by new partners like the Opéra National de Paris and Radio France, expanded to orchestral dimensions, the festival puts in perspective practiced creation and theoretical reflection, the instrumental domain and the technological domain, mirroring each other. June 1-17

Festival Agora 2005

Agora 2005 marks the beginning of a new contemporary season and lays down the foundation for future horizons at IRCAM. The Avis de tempête or storm warning set off by Georges Aperghis with his opera, is at the foundation of a dense and compact festival. Fresh air is blown in by the presence of new talents and personalities, turbulence provoked by Stockhausen’s Helikopter Streichquartett, Paris is woken and diabolic clocks set off in the René Clair film, reinvented by Yan Maresz and Olga Neuwirth. Agora leaves behind the studio, both literally and figuratively, in order to bring to light the best of today’s creation. June 2-11

Festival Agora 2004

This seventh edition of the festival foreshadowed issues that will, no doubt, be increasingly fundamental in the years to come. The monographic concert which takes the time to explore the unique language of a composer, the portrait of an instrumentalist, giving us the chance to appreciate an instrument’s different capabilities as well as its evolution, the place offered to young performers and composers and even the performances scheduled in the heart of the Paris’s 4th district, are the fundamentals of this program. June 2-16

Festival Agora 2003

From Ircam "Espro" to the Jardin des Tuileries, beyond protocols and styles, in an open dialogue between research and creation, innovation and tradition: Agora 2003 wanted to share the artistic adventure of this new century. Participating at this festival meant to be open to the latest development on artistic tendencies or to "lend an ear", "to make reverberate the body" as the philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy described it in the opening keynote of the festival. June 10-24
