Together, artists imagine a model for an interactive digital performance
Work Description/Objectives
In the context of interactive installations and virtual reality, this project aims to create a computer environment that will provide a centralizing framework for the production of pieces that associate motion capture, 3D image synthesis and sound spatialization. The capture, simulation and rendering of these different sensory modalities are generally assured by different software programs doted with specific languages. The principle objective of the project is the design and production of a metalanguage that can specify the framework of the interaction using a formalism compatible with these programs.
The project is a part of the transversal theme "Writing Time" and includes the organization of the symposium, "Writing Musical Time and Interaction", held June 13 and 14, 2006 as a part of the Resonances Festival. The project's technical requirements are based on the experience of an interactive installation by Nicole and Norbert Corsino, titled Danse avec loup that premiered at the Centre Pompidou during the Agora 2006 Festival. The installation associates image, movement and dance synthesis, and sound spatialization through Wavefield Synthesis and a mono-user interaction system.
