The 2011-2012 academic year saw the beginning of the Sound Design Master's program implemented conjointly with the École supérieure des Beaux-Arts Tours-Angers-Le Mans (EPCC), the École nationale supérieure de création industrielle (ENSCI-Les ateliers), and the université du Maine.

This new program completes the catalogue of quality training programs offered at IRCAM made up of the Cursus program for composition and computer music for young composers and the ATIAM Master's program intended for young researchers carried out in partnership with the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC-Paris VI).
