The following software tools are allowed: Max, Ableton Live, Max For Live.
Control interfaces: MIDI keyboard and mixer MIDI, iPad, joysticks.
If the student wishes to use motion capture for the dancers, the must specify the technical setup which must then be approved by the pedagogical team.
In order to choose the percussion instruments, the composer must make the following choices:
I. Choose ONE set among the following four:
Set 1 - skins:
Toms(4), Bass drum, Kick Bass Drum, Bongos, Snare Drums, Unpitched Octobans (4 max.), Congas (2), Timpani (1-4)
Set 2 - metal:
Vibraphone (3 octaves F to F)
Set 3 - wood:
Marimba 4 1/2 octaves or 5 octaves
Set 4 - metal and/or wood:
Anvils, Crotales (2 octaves), Tam Tam, Thunder sheet, Cymbals, Chinese opera gongs(1_4), Thaï gongs, Bell plates (4 maximum), Log drums, Wood Toms (set of 4 maximum), Wood blocks, Temple blocks, Hihat Cymbals, Guero, Rins.
II. Optionally. Choose 5 or 6 (max) instruments freely in the following pool:
For example: Bass drum, Tam Tam, Spring Coils, Glockenspiel, any small accessories (tambourines, triangles...), Cymbals, Toms, Gongs, Crotales...
NB: The following instruments are not available : Steel drums, Tubular Bells, Sets of cowbells.
The composer must specify the set in order of preference (most preferred first) and, optionally, the instrument(s) from the pool.
NB : The pedagogical team will confirm the composers choice or propose other alternatives.
