Practical Information

Note to composers selected for composition workshops:

Announcement for chosen composers will be made as of the 15th of December 2012 and must send the following before April 10, 2013 (dossiers postmarked after this date will not be accepted):

  1. by post:
The written work: three conductor scores bound in an A3 format or bigger, with large enough notes that it can be read from a distance. These three copies must be of good quality. The separate parts must be bound in either A4 or A3 formats. There must be one copy per musician with a break at the bottom of each page leaving the performer time to turn the page.
  2. via email:
The written work in PDF format (conductor score and the separate parts).

Dossiers sent after the deadline indicated will not be accepted.

Conditions

Age limit: These workshops are open to composers and performers born after July 1, 1978.

Composers cannot take part in the composition workshops more than two years in a row. They may, however, follow the academy's activities as an auditor.

A reading panel comprised of the teaching team will examine the application dossiers sent by composers for the composition workshop. This panel's decision is final.

The Academy management, in accord with the person responsible for each composition workshop, reserves the right to exclude a score if its production is impossible during the work sessions.

The repertoire suggested by applying performers, in addition to the compulsory program, will be submitted to the professors teaching that workshop for approval.

Tuition Fees (to be paid upon registration):
300€ for students taking part in the entire academy
150€ for students taking part in the master class for piano duos
200€ for auditors.

Housing in Paris

The Academy does not provide the organization of the housing, candidates will have to find by their own.

Active participants who do not reside in Paris or in the Île-de-France region, are entitled to a housing scholarship of 300€ that will be paid in the beginning of the Academy.

Candidates selected for the academy must indicate they want to receive this scholarship when they have to pay the tuition fee.

Composers chosen for the In Vivo Danse workshop: travel and lodging expenses for the preparatory session in Brussels will be paid for by the Academy.
