Analysis and Hands-On Sessions
June 17-29, 2013
These workshops analyze the use of technologies in several works created at IRCAM. These sessions allow the students to discover, explore and use these technologies in the context of their own compositions.
Works by guest composers and reference works from the IRCAM repertoire will be analyzed. In addition to this approach, a specific theme (e.g. sound synthesis, spatialization) will be used to examine a wide selection of IRCAM repertoire works.
The days will be organized in two sections:
- Mornings will be spent carrying out an analysis of the work during which the question of the relationship between a musical idea and the technologies used to express it will be addressed;
- Afternoons are dedicated to hands-on exercises during which students will be able to learn about and use the technologies evoked in the morning.
